Article: Our Favorite Collections for Spring/Summer 2019

Our Favorite Collections for Spring/Summer 2019

Immersed in the last weeks of spring, and looking forward to warmer days,we revisit some of our favorite collections for Spring/Summer 2019. The following looks and pieces are now available in our stores and online.

Jil Sander

Designers Luke and Lucie Meier third ready-to-wear collection for Jil Sander impeccably combined influences from the military, the artist’s studio, and sports, creating utilitarian yet sophisticated modern uniforms.

Wide, oversized cuts and monochromatic looks are the style basis of the current Jil Sander woman. Leather accessories and Italian-made jewelry complete the the minimalist, casual and refined collection of the Meiers. The beautiful Galatea and Gino shirt dresses are some of our summer favorites, and the leather belt bags will surely become an all-year-round staple.

Prada

Staged in a former piano factory, Prada’s Resort 2019 recovered some of Miuccia’s most representative designs introduced during the decade of 1990.

Eye-catching prints and motifs were seen throughout the show, presented together with classically-cut pieces, giving a contemporary and playful appeal to a collection that speaks both to the adult woman and the newer audience of Prada. Among some of our favorites we cannot miss the short-sleeve long dress and the ruffle hem trousers with a matching belt.

Balenciaga

Within a space designed by Jon Rafman, for Spring/Summer 2019 Demna Gvasalia tackled what modern clothing might be for a new generation.

With modernity in mind -a term that has always been synonymous with Cristóbal Balenciaga- Gvasalia put emphasis on creating new silhouettes and exploring how to create beautiful shapes with minimal effort.

Squared shoulders, bright, vibrant colors, and unexpected materials continued to add to the language that the Georgian-born designer created for the House. To celebrate their fantastic runway show, for the first time we made Balenciaga available online, including some of our favorite pieces.

Etro

“It’s really about being free, joyous.” Veronica Etro looked to the skate and surfing scene of California, the Pacific, and Hawaii for a collection that channeled a bohemian, culturally eclectic vibe.

Known for their love for paisley, prints and colors, Etro offered a combination of easy-to-wear styles that synced seamlessly with that longing for endless summer.

Isabel Marant

Isabel Marant has always been passionate about travelling, and her collections are more than often a nod to that romance. For her latest offering, however, the French designer found inspiration in the last days of disco.

Shimmering silver tops, micro shorts and party boots were presented under Marant’s French-girl cool formula in a contemporary mix we can’t help but fall in love with.
